Procurement & Supply
Procurement & Technical Supply
From the sourcing strategy and the technical requirement through to the equipment arriving on site — including the items that are made once, to order, with a delivery time longer than the design phase.
Scope of work
Critical equipment categories mapped by source geography, lead time and the status of any qualified alternative. The result is usually uncomfortable, and that discomfort is the useful part.
Technical audit, reference verification and trial orders. Qualifying a new source for pressure vessels or heat exchangers takes months, and the schedule has to be told that before it is published.
Specifications written so that what arrives can be accepted or rejected on evidence, not on argument.
Conditional commitments placed early, where the cancellation cost is a fraction of the delay it prevents.
Contracting, expediting, inspection and delivery of the equipment itself, from wherever it is actually manufactured.
Independence and the conflict we have to name
An adviser who earns a margin on the equipment he recommends is no longer an adviser. Buyers ask this, and so does compliance. Our answer is structural:
Advisory is paid on a fixed or time basis and is not a percentage of the equipment value.
Where we act as principal on supply, that is written in the contract, not implied.
Not without the client's written agreement, taken in advance and on the record.
